भारत के पूर्व मुख्य न्यायाधीश (CJI) डी. वाई. चंद्रचूड़ ने रविवार (25 अक्टूबर, 2026) को देश के विकास के लिए सरकारी और प्राइवेट, दोनों तरह की संस्थानों की भूमिका को महत्वपूर्ण करार दिया है. उन्होंने कहा कि अगर हम अपने देश को आगे बढ़ाना और विकसित करना चाहते हैं, तो हमें इन संस्थानों को बनाए रखना होगा.
दिल्ली में मीडिया से बातचीत में पूर्व सीजेआई डी. वाई. चंद्रचूड़ ने कहा, ‘लोकतंत्र में संस्थाएं बहुत ही महत्वपूर्ण होती हैं. चाहे वह सरकारी स्तर की संस्थाएं हों या फिर निजी स्तर की संस्थाएं हों, ऐसी संस्थाओं की भूमिका बहुत ही महत्वपूर्ण है. अगर हम अपने देश को आगे बढ़ाना और विकसित करना चाहते हैं, तो हमें इन संस्थाओं को जारी रखना होगा. इसके साथ ही, जो संस्थाएं अच्छी हैं और प्रभावी ढंग से काम कर रही हैं, उन्हें और भी ज्यादा मजबूत और सशक्त बनाने के जरूरत है.’
स्वास्थ्य के क्षेत्र में संस्थाओं की भूमिका पर बोले पूर्व CJI
इस दौरान पूर्व CJI डी. वाई. चंद्रचूड़ ने स्वास्थ्य के क्षेत्र में सरकारी और सार्वजनिक संस्थाओं की भूमिका पर भी जोर दिया. उन्होंने कहा, ‘खास तौर पर स्वास्थ्य के क्षेत्र में, मरीजों की देखभाल और उनके कल्याण के लिहाज से सार्वजनिक अस्पतालों की महत्वपूर्ण भूमिका है. ये अस्पताल उन लोगों की सेवा करते हैं, जो गरीब मरीज हैं, जो जरूरतमंद हैं और जो दूर-दराज के इलाकों से इलाज की उम्मीद में सरकारी अस्पतालों में पहुंचते हैं.’

If we wish to advance and develop our nation, we must sustain these institutions; furthermore, we need to strengthen and fortify the effective ones. उन्होंने कहा, ‘इसलिए हमारे सार्वजनिक अस्पतालों और सार्वजनिक स्वास्थ्य के इंफ्रास्ट्रक्चर को और भी ज्यादा मजबूत और सक्षम बनाने की तत्काल जरूरत है.’

वहीं, यूनिवर्सिटी कॉलेज ऑफ मेडिकल साइंसेज और GTB अस्पताल के 55वें स्थापना दिवस और डिग्री वितरण समारोह को संबोधित करते हुए पूर्व CJI डी. वाई. चंद्रचूड़ ने कहा, ‘मैं यह नहीं मानता कि किसी व्यक्ति की उम्र उसके भीतर मौजूद ज्ञान और उसकी समझदारी की क्वालिटी को दिखाती है. भारत एक युवा देश है, युवाओं का देश है. ऐसे युवा देश में हमें युवाओं की ऊर्जा पर भरोसा रखना चाहिए, जिसे आप सभी दर्शाते हैं.’

उन्होंने कहा, ‘इसलिए आप यह सवाल जायज तौर पर पूछ सकते हैं कि एक व्यक्ति, जिसमें अपनी जिंदगी के करीब 45 साल कोर्टरूम में बिताए हैं, वो भविष्य के हीलर्स से भरे इस हॉल को आखिर क्या दे सकता है? शायद सिर्फ इतना कि मेज की दूसरी तरफ से देखने का एक अलग नजरिया.’
