पूर्व केंद्रीय मंत्री और कांग्रेस पार्टी के वरिष्ठ नेता मणिशंकर अय्यर ने रविवार (4 अक्टूबर, 2026) को मोदी सरकार की विदेश नीतियों पर सवाल उठाए हैं. उन्होंने भारत के दोनों पड़ोसी देशों- पाकिस्तान और चीन, को लेकर मोदी सरकार की नीतियों पर टिप्पणी की है. उन्होंने कहा, ‘मैंने इस बारे में बहुत विस्तार से बात की है, तो मैं छोटे तौर पर नहीं बता सकता हूं, लेकिन हमें एक ढोंगी (Hypocritical) के रूप में देखा जा रहा है.’
उन्होंने कहा, ‘हम दुनिया से कहते हैं कि यह युद्ध का दौर नहीं है और फिर हम जाकर पाकिस्तान के साथ युद्ध करते हैं. हम कहते हैं कि कूटनीति और बातचीत होनी चाहिए, लेकिन जिन देशों के साथ हमारे कूटनीतिक संबंध और पारस्परिक बातचीत नहीं है, उनमें सिर्फ एक देश पाकिस्तान है.’
चीन के साथ संबंधों पर क्या बोले अय्यर?
जम्मू कश्मीर की राजधानी श्रीनगर में रविवार (4 अक्टूबर, 2026) को मीडिया से बातचीत में कांग्रेस के वरिष्ठ नेता मणिशंकर अय्यर ने चीन को लेकर कहा, ‘हमने क्वाड में शामिल होकर चीन को नाराज कर दिया है. अब अमेरिका भी कह रहा है कि क्वाड का कोई महत्व नहीं है, तो यह कैसी कूटनीति है?’

But we are being seen as hypocritical. Because we tell the world this is not an era of war, and then we go to war with Pakistan. We say that there should be diplomacy and dialogue. The only countries with which we don’t have diplomacy and dialogue is Pakistan. And with China, we have annoyed them by joining Quad. And now even America is saying that Quad doesn’t matter. So what kind of a diplomacy is this? It has nothing to do with our strategic autonomy. It has everything to do with trying to play both sides against the middle. This is transactional, it’s not moral.”

उन्होंने कहा, ‘इसका हमारी रणनीतिक स्वायत्तता से कोई लेना-देना नहीं है. इसका पूरा संबंध एक साथ दोनों पक्षों को अपने हित में इस्तेमाल करने की कोशिश से है. यह लेन-देन पर आधारित है, नैतिकता पर नहीं.’
ECI पर मल्लिकार्जुन खरगे के बयान पर अय्यर ने क्या कहा?
Srinagar, Jammu and Kashmir: On Congress National President Mallikarjun Kharge’s statement, Congress leader Mani Shankar Aiyar says, “I don’t agree with him. I think the Election Commission was functioning totally autonomously all the time until very recently. And I don’t think it’s necessary to statutorily make a constitutional body autonomous. The Supreme Court is not described as autonomous. It’s a constitutional body. So, by making it a constitutional body, you automatically ensure that it will be autonomous. But then subversion has been done. The method by which these commissioners and judges are being appointed is not a transparent procedure at all.”

वहीं, उन्होंने चुनाव आयोग को लेकर कांग्रेस के राष्ट्रीय अध्यक्ष मल्लिकार्जुन खरगे के दिए बयानों पर भी अपनी प्रतिक्रिया दी है. मणिशंकर अय्यर ने कहा, ‘मैं उनसे (मल्लिकार्जुन खरगे से) सहमत नहीं हूं. मैं मानता हूं कि हाल ही में हुए चुनावों तक चुनाव आयोग पूरी तरह से स्वायत्त तरीके से काम करता रहा है और मुझे नहीं लगता है कि किसी भी संवैधानिक संस्था को स्वायत्त बनाने के लिए किसी कानून के जरिए ऐसा प्रावधान करना जरूरी है.’
उन्होंने कहा, ‘सुप्रीम कोर्ट का भी किसी स्वायत्त संस्था के तौर पर जिक्र नहीं किया गया है. वह एक संवैधानिक संस्था है. इसलिए किसी संस्था को संवैधानिक दर्जा देकर आप स्वाभाविक रूप से यह सुनिश्चित करते हैं कि वह स्वायत्त होगी, लेकिन फिर इसमें हस्तक्षेप किया गया है. जिस तरीके से इन चुनाव आयुक्तों और जजों की नियुक्ति की जा रही है, वह प्रक्रिया पूरी तरह से पारदर्शी नहीं है.’
